The Laws of Physics

As you go through this course, you will learn about rules of the road and other traffic laws. There is one set of laws that you won’t get from your Alabama Driver’s Manual, though: the laws of physics. If you lose complete control of your vehicle, it will not stop until it loses momentum or hits something bigger and more solid than it. During this time, it may coast along some undetermined path. It may also flip and continue to roll over. Unfortunately, you cannot wish that to stop or turn back time. The vehicle will stop when it stops. What you need to ask yourself is, “What will be in its path?” Trees? Other vehicles? A family out taking a walk?

NEVER DO ANYTHING THAT WILL CAUSE YOU TO LOSE SO MUCH CONTROL OVER YOUR VEHICLE THAT YOU SUDDENLY FIND YOURSELF TO TURN BACK THE CLOCK.

You can know the Alabama Driver’s Manual inside and out, backwards and forwards. You can take this course and ten others. You can read every book possible on safe driving techniques. If you get behind the wheel of a faulty vehicle, though, that expert knowledge will only take you so far.
